說明

This dataset contains the 2021 Norwegian Red List of vascular plants, which assesses the extinction risk of native plant species in mainland Norway. The assessment follows the IUCN Red List criteria adapted for national use and provides a scientifically grounded basis for conservation policy, biodiversity monitoring, and habitat management. The dataset has been exported from Artsdatabanken - Red List 2021, after the selection of vascular plants (Karplanter): Artsdatabanken (2021, 24. november). Norsk rødliste for arter 2021. 取樣方法

Species and subspecies which reproduce and establish new populations as of 1800 and those which have established themselves (without human assistance) before 1800 in Norway were considered. Non-native plant species that have established themselves after 1800 are not included and are given the category NA (Not Assessed).

研究範圍 The conservation status of 1376 vascular plants of mainland Norway (including Jan Mayen) was assessed according to the IUCN criteria. The vascular plant species of Svalbard (including Bjørnøya) were assessed separately. Additionally, the conservation status of 329 subspecies have been evaluated.

方法步驟描述:

  1. All species are assessed against the five IUCN criteria. The assessments are made based on the current situation, as well as developments in the near past or future.
  2. Criterion A: Severe reduction in population size. More than 30 percent reduction over an assessment period of 3 generations (min. 10 years, max. 100 years). The species has recently experienced a severe decline in populations size, or there is strong reason to expect a significant decline in the near future.
  3. Criterion B: Restricted geographic range. Less than 20.000 squared kilometer or an area of occurrence smaller than 2.000 squared kilometer. This criterion is combined with at least two sub-criteria: a) severe fragmentation or few locations; b) ongoing decline in population size or area; c) extreme fluctuations.
  4. Criterion C: Limited population size. Less than 10.000 mature individuals and ongoing decline in population size, possibly combined with an unfavorable population structure (very few mature individuals in each sub-population or a large proportion of mature individuals in one sub-population) or extreme population fluctuations.
  5. Criterion D: Very few mature individuals. Less than 1.000 individuals or a very limited area of occurrence (less than 20 square kilometers) or few locations (less than 5 locations). Species with a limited area of occurrence/few locations can only be red listed if there is also a real threat to the location. Species can be red listed according to the D criterion even if there is no ongoing decline in population size.
  6. Criterion E: Quantitative analysis of the risk of extinction in the wild. Less than 10 percent probability of extinction in a one hundred year perspective.
  7. The species are assigned one of the IUCN categories based on the criteria: RE (Regionally Extinct), CR (Critically Endangered), EN (Endangered), VU (Vulnerable), NT (Near Threatened), LC (Least Concern), and DD (Data Deficient). The NT category is assigned when a species is close to satisfying one or more of the criteria based on national threshold values.
