Method step description:
- The original temporal information of the records includes both single dates and time intervals (e.g. 17 June 1980 or June 1980, which could be any date between 1980-06-01 and 1980-06-30). Since GBIF cannot handle time intervals, only the first day of a period is recorded in the eventDate term. The original date is stored in the verbatimEventDate term.
